A post-doctoral position is available in the area of molecular dynamics simulations. Research areas include riboswitch structure and function, in vitro selection of RNAs, synthetic biology, ribosome function and regulatory non-coding RNAs. The position starts immediately and is 2 years (with possible 3rd year extension) with competitive starting salary plus benefits.

Los Alamos National Laboratory:

LANL is multidisciplinary with expertise in chemistry, materials science, bioscience, physics, engineering, computer science, social science and many other fields. As a national laboratory, high priority is placed in interdisciplinary studies. Facilities include the largest supercomputer in the world, high-throughput biochemistry, and next-generation sequencing, as well as many other capabilities. We are located in the mountains of northern New Mexico, 40 minutes from Santa Fe, with close access to skiing, hiking, climbing and mountain biking.

Job Requirements:

Ph. D. in physics, computer science, applied mathematics, biochemistry, biology or related field. Extensive computer programming experience. Ability to write, run, debug and trouble-shoot code. Ability to work under a deadline. Excellent communication skills. Top candidates will be flown to Los Alamos for a job talk. Approval for foreign national visits requires 10 business days. Approval for citizens of US DOE sensitive countries requires 45 business days.
